Guangdong LNG Terminal

Guangzhou LNG Terminal is an auxiliary project of LNG terminals and the first LNG terminal in China. The Terminal is composed of a berth that allows 80,000m3~165,000 m3 LNG carriers for docking (in the short term) and in the long run, is also capable of berthing 200,000 m3 LNG carriers, and a supporting heavy cargo wharf with a capacity of 5,000DWT (it can also be used as a workboat wharf). The Owner is a consortium incorporating 12 entities, e.g. British Petroleum (BP), CNOOC, Guangdong Province, Shenzhen City etc. The General Contractor of the Terminal is the GDC Company – formed by four companies STTC from France and Italy with its registered office in China. Our Institute will cooperate with the GDC to undertake shop drawing design of the Port, equipment procurement, on-site construction management of the Terminal.


The Terminal commenced its construction in November, 2003, and now has been completed, it began operations on May 26, 2006 to allow the 65,000m3 “NORTHWEST SEAEAGLE” LNG carrier for berthing, indicating the Terminal was put into operation formally.
